Fun 'N Learn Summer CampMay 18, 2011Summer learning loss, also known as "summer brain drain" is a common occurrence that takes place among children during the long summer vacation. Research conducted by the National Summer Learning Association regarding the effect of "summer brain drain" on children indicates that learning loss was greatest in the areas of math and reading. In addition, students can loose as much as three months worth of academic knowledge acquired during the school year, putting them at a great disadvantage as they prepare to enter a new school year. In order to help parents combat this occurrence, Read2Succeed had developed the "Fun 'N Learn Summer Camp" scheduled to launch this summer from June 13th to August 12th at Mc Millan Park in West Miami-Dade. The Fun 'N Learn Summer Camp uniquely combines academic structure with fun interactive activities designed to help young minds remain active during the summer. Program participants will have access to certified teachers and tutors that will conduct learning activities in the areas of reading, math, science and social skills. In addition, kids will be exposed to great weekly fieldtrips and fun outdoor activities. The Fun 'N Learn Summer Camp is a full day program taking place from 8am-6pm. $95 weekly rate includes fieldtrips, lunch and snacks. Registration is required and space is limited.
